Just saw a video of a couple of things Antony did whilst at Ajax and even then I'm not convinced... It's the Eredivisie not the Prem and he doesn't get the time and space that he had there... So one footed it's scary and if the coaches don't work on his right foot in training they need immediate sacking... I'll be honest, when I think about him it makes me question ETH. How the heck did he think that the man would do anything on note in our league and at this club? And the idiot that agreed the fee should be publicly flogged

Murtough and Fletcher have a lot to answer for. Recruitment was equally bad under Ole: Maguire, Donny, Sancho, AWB etc. And I suspect that they were driving the Mason Mount deal.
In fairness to Erik, Hojlund and Martinez are up there with the best of the signings we've made in the post-Fergie era. Admittedly not a very high bar. But along with Mainoo and Garnacho we at least have some kind of base for the future we can build around.
Erik was also messed around being told that he'd have Greenwood in the squad before we U-turned and the underinvestment in forwards pre-dates him joining the club with the club pursuing a succession of stop-gap signings such as Cavani and Ronaldo and failing to get rid of Martial.
Onana has been a bit of a disaster but if you put him in last season's team with Casemiro still in his prime, Eriksen still able to pull the strings, and a backline of Shaw Varane Martinez and Dalot reasonably solid and capable of playing from the back it would have worked out a lot better.
Antony is the main strike against Erik. Clearly he has a soft spot for the player which clouded his judgement. But a competent footballing director would have vetoed that deal and presented Erik with better alternatives.

Forson ain’t good enough Antony is way off it Hmmm why don’t we give Amad a game, it’s not that hard. No one is saying he is the saviour or anything, all we want is to see him get a chance considering what he did last year. You can’t judge someone when you haven’t even seen them play It's not a particularly hard team to get into. I think ETH has made a rod for his own back with Antony. Maybe Amad along with Kambwala hasn't shown enough to justify being given a chance...Antony is his only option which is concerning. He's given Garnacho and Mainoo full runs at the team and are now undeniable starters..... He doesn't really have any great choices on the right other than putting Garnacho there because Antony sucks, Amad hasn't shown enough with the chances he's been given, Pellistri wasn't good enough. Our options are shit with more shit behind it all over the pitch

I mean, it'd be nice to find out just how good Amad is or isn't, wouldn't it? Worst that can happen is that he gets 0 goals and assists, which is more or less Antony's output, and as for Kambwala, I thought the lad had a good few games against Spurs and Liverpool. Given he's 19. Had a bit of a stinker when he came on on Sunday, but sometimes you have to allow kids to have bad games. It's what they learn from it and their reaction the next chance they get, that tells you more about them. Case in point Garnacho who looked to have stalled earlier in the season, but seems to have knuckled down, and arguably is our player of the season.

Playing full back isn’t easy either when you’re naturally a CB.

Garnacho has been good on the right. Better than he was on the left in fact, because it forces him to do something other than predictably cut inside.
But I still can’t see why Amad would’ve had so few minutes. As has been said, worst he can do is come on and be rubbish, but that’s what everyone else we’ve played on that side other than Garnacho has been.
Maybe there’s something in training or behind the scenes, I dunno.

He was talking Antony up last week saying he’s unstoppable at his best. Said he’s the quickest he’s seen over ten yards or something too. I thought, come on Erik, we can’t be watching the same player. He’s slower than 46 year old Ashley Young.

We’ve had massive news about Old Trafford today and nobody has posted one thing in over24 hours. Says all you need to know about our feelings towards the club.
