We got Weghorst out of his loan contract with Galatasaray. So I think it would be possible. Pay Galatasaray compensation. Pay Napoli an additional loan fee. Everyone is a winner.
Zirzkee is a nice player but he is a number 10 not a number 9. He just isn't clinical enough in front of goal and probably never will be.
Hojlund is a fantastic prospect but it is a huge burden for him to be the main source of goals this season when Rashford is inconsistent, Bruno is misfiring, Zirzkee is more of a creator, and the overall service is pretty rubbish.

Galatasaray were laughing themselves to death BTS while that transaction was going on. I doubt we’d get similar agreement for Osimhen.

Yeah it seems pretty unlikely. Even if Galatasaray were eager to make a quick buck they'd demand a lot of compensation and INEOS don't seem to be one for short term fixes even if getting Osimhen on loan and replacing Erik (even if only with a temp for now) might save our season.
There is some talk of an exit clause in the loan deal. But to trigger it I think a club needs to make a permanent offer in January. And we probably don't have the money for that and you'd imagine Chelsea or Arsenal would be front runners.

OP said Galatasaray, took his word for it. In fairness I'd wager someone at Gala was laughing that Man United are working that hard to land Wout Weghorst on a loan.

Apparently we are looking at bringing Fernandez back, why we let him go for peanuts is beyond me especially when we was short in the left back position with Shaw and malacia never fit, oh and it's 42m as well

Surely that would have included a price? It was reported a buy back clause was put in, I would be highly sceptical it would be 42 million bearing in mind we sold him for 7m.

With all the defensive injuries we may want to look a signing a LB free agent. Looking at the list you have Ghislain Konan sitting there without a club. Last year he won the African Cup and recently has been playing in the Saudi league….I don’t think it’s much of a risk taking a flyer signing a LB tbh..

Not really a January option. But apparently we did insert a buy-back/sell-on clause when we sold Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica. Real Madrid and Barcelona circling and I cannot imagine him wanting to return to play under Erik who never gave him a chance.
Mad really. He's been in the background all along. But Erik preferred to sign Malacia (who even when he was fit was pretty mediocre). And then preferred to bring in Reguilion on loan and send Alvaro Fernandez on another loan rather than give him a chance in the first team.
Of course he probably wouldn't have developed to the extent he has at Benfica under Erik. But it is pretty damning for a manager supposed to be good at bringing through young players.

Portuguese press running a story that the buyout clause for clubs in Fernadez’s contrac5 is 50 million Euro.
But for Utd is 20 million Euro and it’s valid for another 18 months. That seems like a pretty good Jan option.

I'd rather he stays there at least until the summer. At least he will develop his game over there for them. I'm not sure how much progression we can expect of our youngsters such as Garnacho, Mainoo and Hojlund this season when the team is a disorganized mess and there will be a cloud of uncertainty over the managerial position that probably won't be resolved until this summer. I'd rather give Amass some game time this season and then loan Amass out next season and buy back Alvaro.

Has he done really well over there then? I remember people saying he was never going to be good enough for United when we flogged him. Has he improved or have our standards dropped?
