If this does happen, it could explain why we swerved Tuchel.

Sporting play tomorrow so I doubt it would be announced until Wednesday at the earliest, if it's going to happen. Might be worth a watch.

Top of the league in Portugal, 6 points clear and a goal difference of +28. Only Portugal I know, but ahead of Porto and Benfica. Was favourite for the City job and Liverpool were linked before they got Slot. I'm game. i’m in too. For the same reason we hired ETH(a well thought of up and coming coach where we may be ahead of the curve). ok it didn’t work out with ETH but I still think it’s the best way for us to go(far better the over the hill manager's and club legends).

It will be a reporting clown show from the eyes of Sporting fans - constant questions regarding United.

Apparently there is a chance that he could join with immediate effect. Depends on how negotiations between Sporting and INEOS go regarding compensation. That would be the dream really. He'd get several months to settle in and assess the squad and help INEOS plan our summer transfer business. Can they offer ETH as a straight replacement? 😆

What qualities does Amirom and his teams possess that makes him a strong candidate. Asking because I genuinely don’t know, just aware of the general hype. ETH I knew and liked his Ajax teams.

I doubt anyone on here really knows. I've heard he plays 3 at the back. Very strong record at Sporting. Away we go.

His record in Portugal is pretty incredible both with Braga and Sporting Lisbon and he's managed a few scalps in European football as well.
Some uncomfortable parallels with Erik. Also dominated a minor European league and managed a few big scalps in Europe. And comes with a reputation for being tactically innovative and the problem is our players seem to struggle following even basic tactical instructions. Also he favours a back three and we struggle to field a fit pair of centre backs let alone a trio.
But there are also parallels with a young Jose and I think he has the charisma and passion and confidence that Erik lacked and that will hopefully get our players fired up. I also don't think he will be as tolerant as Erik was and if players don't perform they won't last long under him. So he could be just what we need.
He also has a good knowledge of the Portuguese league which has always been a very fertile field for recruitment and quite a few of his current players could be good additions such as Inacio and Hjulmand.
Hopefully we can get him signed up as soon as possible. He wanted to leave Sporting this summer and if we pay the compensation Sporting can have no complaints.

He did an internship with Jose in 2018. So there’s that.

Plays 3-4-3 If he brings that here you’d assume yoro de ligt and. Martinez with mazraoui and amass as wingbacks Talented as he is Bruno is a conundrum in that formation as when fit the two in the middle would be Ugarte and Mainoo Upfront I’d want amad Hojlund and Garnacho
Only real place you could put Bruno is in for amad or rotate them

With Amorim the talk is he was being lined up for city especially with vianna going there at the end of this season. Scouse wanted him but didn’t want to pay up? Pretty sure he held talks with West Ham too
I really am not sure how I feel about it.

Let’s do it right this time.
3 year deal with an option for 1 more.
Assess the situation at the end of the 25-26 season and every half season beyond.
If performances are not up to expectations or slipping then fire and hire(no more using SAF as the template as those days are gone).
Let’s start acting like a top club again where mediocrity is not tolerated.

A lot of uncertainty around City isn’t there. Nobody knows the extent of the punishment and Pep’s decision probably depends on that. Amorim might not want to sit about waiting on the off-chance. He fucked off in the middle of a season to discuss taking Moyes’ job, so don’t think he’ll be turning down our advances here. He clearly wants the move to the bigger league. And we probably wouldn’t be speaking to him if we weren’t willing to pay his clause.
