Not to mention all the redundancy costs for all the Dutch coaches we stocked up on to support Erik. Seems to be some confusion whether we're gonna stump up the extra €5m to forego his 'Gardening Leave' and bring 3 of his coaching staff in...

Tuchel I don't think would have worked. He's used to working at big clubs with good players and big transfer budgets and just like LVG and Jose he'd have struggled with our rubbish. Plus he'd have inevitably argued non-stop with INEOS over transfers.
Amorim is a disruptive manager and probably just what we need to shake things up. We are pretty much a blank canvas right now. A team with no identity under Erik. A lot of youngsters who are now feeling a bit lost and in need of direction. New signings who haven't settled in properly.
And Amorim has been there before with Sporting who were a mess when he took over and he quickly shaped them into a team that broke up the Porto Benfica duopoly.

Sky saying it’s a done deal. Seems to be a matter of when he comes. Sporting are posturing that he will stay until November international break because they want us to pony up for the assistant coaches.

Sky saying it’s a done deal. The only negotiation I'm seeing is for leave time. Sporting supposedly want 30 day notice for the for Amorim and the 3 coaches he will bring with him and will take 15-17mil for all four to depart immediately. Then again I've seen conflicting report that all 4 will be traveling to Manchester today and could be at the Match tonight..

According to Custis (!) Jose encouraged Amorim to take the job.

It is the right move for someone as ambitious as Amorim. If he can succeed here he can basically pick his next job. And Erik lowered the bar so much that he'll get given plenty of time to turn us into champs.

If he turns this club around and wins a League and/or CL title.... that coach will live in stories of legend for decades. The coach the returned the broken juggernaut that is Manchester United back to its perch at the top of the world.

Sounds like Ruud will be in charge until the international break so Ipswich will be Ruben’s first game.

I don't think the same conditions are in place.
When SAF left we'd been run on a shoestring for years as Glazers siphoned off cash to service debt and pay dividends. Our squad hadn't been refreshed in years and was still reliant on stalwarts such as Rio, Vidic, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs etc. Our youth system was in poor shape as well.
Slot (so far) hasn't struggled at Liverpool because their squad was in decent shape (even if not as stellar as the peak of Klopp's glory years).
I think City's dominance will end when Pep leaves but not just because of that but also because they will find it harder to cheat every year, may eventually face some kind of sanctions and other clubs will be able to catch up. But they still will be an immensely well run club with an amazing youth set up which is a fabulous source of funds and potential first team players and their transfer business has always been pretty sensible, although they've had some missteps in recent years. And their squad is adequately refreshed that it will still be able to stay competitive while a new manager finds his feet.
