Its pathetic, hes the scapegoat, we have on EVERY tournie, have you all seen the pic of him with a bullseye and cunt wqritten on? Its spreading round msn, mainly by the chavs.... Totally. But he plays for United so he's the perfect scapegoat. Just a total shame. Couldn't give a toss if he cheated Eng-er-lund out of the World Cup, good on him. I'm sure if John Terry had of got Figo sent off or something like that he'd be an 'English proud lion' or some other bollocks. It's just boring really. I agree with the United > England.

As things stand, he looks set to leave. And it is rather saddening knowing he feels as if nobody is backing him up, sticking up for him, call it what you will, when the majority of fans, like myself and a lot on this board, want him to stay.

Ronaldo is an absolute disgrace!!!!! Rooney would have got a YELLOW card had not the "One trick Pony" got him sent off........ Bad enough to do that to another player but your OWN team mate? ? There is no way he can ever play in England again. You heard the BOO's of the whole stadium in that last game and was from the French supporters !!!!!.....you imagine what is going to happen at Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. As for England there was only John Terry and Owen Hargreaves who came out of the World Cup with anything to shout about for England.

Womble....
Terry was crap as were England, bar the Portugal game
I am sick and tired of people moaning about what 'Ronaldo did to Rooney' he appealed for a foul and a card to be shown for what looked like a stamp on purpose on his team mate, you think if Ronaldo sat back and just didnt do anything, he wouldnt get massacred in the changing room, dont be stupid ffs rooney WASNT his team mate, United at that point werent involved, club football has NOTHING to do with it, its the f*Cking world cup for crying out loud, please grow up and stop making excuses, if we had played with better tactics and 2 strikers, odds on we would have scored earlier, stop blaming Ronaldo for something that any club or nation for that matter would have wanted their player to do!
What would you have done if Cavalho had done something to Rooney, injured him, he went off, we lost and Terry was seen saying congrats to his 'team mate' you would all be wanting to crucify him, there are no domestic team mates get it into all your heads who are crying about rooney and ronaldo being team mates and how could he have done this, they were different countries, different teams, different shirts, different team mates, so why exactly should ronaldo sacrifice his chance to win the world cup, to let rooney through and perhaps win it instead?
Yes it was dirty but so was the whole world cup and so is the desire to win sometimes, blame fifa, a player is lucky if he gets 3 world cups, they have to snatch the oppurtunity and in more things than just football people will do anything to win.
forget it, stop blaming someone, move on.......

Is this the "Back Ronaldo( into a corner and shoot him thread)" or is that next week? For whatever reason - and I care less about England than CIteh - the guy has "allegedly" said I want off. There's even a report in todays rumours that "he will go on strike if he can't go". Now that says to me, if it's true, that he's not Gary Neville. And I want 11 Gary Nevilles playing for me. So for me it's sod off time. Sorry, liked the lad; good player - might be brilliant when he's potty trained; but sod off. No regrets £25 million please. Bye Bye. Sorry you say no-one will pay that. Pity, tell you what, try the reserves.

This is the part I have an issue with: accepting that it's the way the game is and there is nothing we can do about it; if we don't take issue with them then we condone this behavior. Sure, every player wants to win the World Cup but how you win it is just as important as the victory itself. While that point is argueable by today's standards, we should make every effort to be vocal towards players who play outside of the parameters of fair play otherwise what does it really mean? Now we all know that the ref was going to give Rooney a card, and would have what the whole Portuguese team had to say about it affected his decision? My bet is NO. Let's be clear: if we really want to keep players honest and have victories be a result of good tactics and quality of play then have to be vocal. I am in total agreement that he is NOT the one to blame for England's exit out of the WC...to do so is to not look at the lackluster performance by team and dodgy tactical decisions made by Eriksson. I'd like Ronaldo to stay and develop to be the player we all know he can be, but his statements make it pretty clear that he doesn't want to stay and that no one supported him...maybe someone should send him a link to this message board.

I wasnt condoning the way of play, just that thats how it was at the time and the fact that people are acting like ROnaldo was the only one using any form of underhand tactics, yes we need to stamp it out, no should RONALDO be made the poster boy of cheating
Thats all i was saying

I wasn't coming down on you Rewdie, I agree with what you're saying...I'm just very concerned with maintaining the integrity of the sport. There's too many underhanded tactics being used all under the guise of "well I want to win for my country/club". One of the things I really admired about the Prem when I started watching (1989) was that English football wasn't filled with the same level of theatrics I was so familiar with watching the occasional Serie A match or La Clausura in Argentina. I admired the heart and straight forward style of play and don't want to see that disappear just because others are caving in and accepting "win at ALL costs" tactics. If that's the case then for every United match against Citeh, L'Arse, rent boy and scouser match I'm going to make sure I spike the players water bottles with laxatives....
