Didn't see the orignal posters message but I agree with your response. Ronaldo before the World Cup was one of the most promising youngsters in World football. The World Cup performances by Ronaldo proved to me that the boy is destined for great things and many achievements along the way and I for one sincerley hope is success is with United. He was by far Portugals best performer and picked up 3 MOM awards, 2 of which he was substituted in b4 70 mins. On the World stage against the Worlds best players Ronaldo proved to me he was a cut above the rest, in time his game will be polished off and he will end up in the top 3 players in the World list withing the next 2 to 3 years. A prospect I would be fearfull of losing but do really believe he will be with us again next season and I for one would be extremely pleased with that. I completely disagree with this poster. If Ronaldo done what he done and England went through no one would have noticed it happened or commented on it. Its just sour grapes from the English press that is the problem. All he done wrong against England was point out that Rooney had stamped on one of his teammates and colleagues bollocks. Gerrard, Rio, Cole, in fact any other England player would have done the same thing. The other thing he done wrong was score the winning penalty and the English press hate him for it. If England went through all would have been forgotten, but they went out and rather than find an English scapegoat as thy have done in recent tournaments they found a foreign one that plays in England. Don't let the crap they write influence you. Ronaldo has not done much wrong this world cup. In fact he played brilliantly and showed why its important we keep him! ;D Can I invite you all to take of your United blinkers for a second, and realise this. If Ronaldo played for any other club, for what he did throughout the World Cup, not just against England, but also against France, and even in the nothing game that was the 3rd/4th place play off, which was diving around, simulating he'd been run over by a MACK truck etc etc YOU WOULD ALL BE JOINING THE CHORUS TO SHOOT THE LITTLE BAST**D And don't tell me you would not, because that's a lie.

There was an interesting discussion on 5 last night of which I caught only a small part of. It was a sports editor on about the world cup and what he was saying was that the Tabloids needed a scapegoat for the failure. They had been building up England and someone had to take the can. The first person they tried was Rooney - in the Beckham mode of 1998 - but it soon became clear that the public wouldn't wear it. So then they went for Ronny. The guy's opinion was that had it not been for the Madrid crap, that would have died a death too and even now, public enemy is their third choice ie Sven. We shouldn't underestimate the press need for targets. It sells papers in just the way that threads here develop. The Reyes scam with Madrid soon lost steam and with the start of the season the Ronny thing would die AS LONG AS THE SILLY BUGGER STAYED ON HIS FEET. Utd will back him all the time the offer is less than their valuation but the minute someone offered him the right price - and it wont be Noel Edmonds - he'll be history

Just pictured that KNOBHEAD Noel Edmonds on the phone with his dodgy jumper trying to tap up players for United. With the Peter Kenyon book on how to act like a complete twat and think your your the dogs bollocks book in one hand and that shitty old phone off Deal or no Deal in the other hand, well that or his Knob #Wa# There was an interesting discussion on 5 last night of which I caught only a small part of. I don't really care about England anymore tbh, I supported them this year but it just wasn't the same as was in the last wrld cup or even the last Euro's, the passion has gone, I'm not sure why I think maybe, a mix between certain players not giving a shit, and supporters supporting for all the wrong reasons. So It's just Utd from now on!

There's just no passion left for england anymore, I watched their games and want rooney, rio and nev to do well, I try and cheer the team but in my heart of hearts I don't really care!

Rewdie those are my thoughts too, but when Manchester United as a club and our fans get attacked constantly by England fans and the media what do you expect us to do? Ronaldo will be added to the list of United players who have been made scapegoats for England's downfall, and for no reason imo.
England fans and the media hate us, and sometimes that makes me contemplate whether I want to continue supporting a country, which recently has played with no heart, who continuously ridicule my one true love (in footballing sense) which is United.
I'm always United before England! Although I'll always love the country!

I see your point mate, but it isnt the players blaming us and they dont write the papers and I wont pull my support of them because of the England fans and media, i'll turn my back on English fans who support whats being said and I will refuse to buy the papers but when it comes to the WC or euros i will be watching all the England games
