Miss utd wrote I'm usually very critical of Fletcher, but he is having a very good match today this far. We are playing Liverpool though, and that usually make most players put in the extra effort Then wrote love Carrick and think he is going to be great for us once all the pieces comes together for him, he has looked lazy at times today though, and although he had a very good start to the game he is slipping out of it again. He looks confused, and slightly like he is trying to be a defensive midfielder. I really hope Sir Alex didn't tell him to play defensively, because it's not for him... well here's to Carrick to score! Am I asking too much Yes is the answer, 7 goals in his whole career, Please dont start clutching at straws and blaming the manager for another characterless display from him I didn't blame the manager for anything, I said I HOPE he hasn't been told to play defensively. As in then there'd be an excuse as to why he was not going forward as much as I wanted him to. I want him to do well, hence the comment regarding wanting him to score. And he is going to do well, he looked out of his debt today but he has not played badly in his other matches, not played brilliantly either. If you are going to comment on anything I say... at least read my comments before you do. Carrick came 4th in the defensive stats for midfielders last season in the premiership i believe... Good result today, must be great for Sir Alex as Giggs will need a few games to get back into it and Ronaldo got a rest whilst being ill, Rooney got another game. Another performance to add to the history of the club, Scholes- 500th, Rooney 100th. Hard run of games coming up now, Blackburn, Bolton etc. good start to them.

But he is not a defensive midfielder, and we didn't bring him to United to do that job. He looks really good for us when he has been going forward, and has come close to scoring at some occasions along with having greated chances for others.

Carrick has been doing decent--i think he needs to realise though that he is no longer playing for Spurs, he is now a red and that means working that much harder as every game against United is big for the important...no one is expecting to get another Keane, but maybe if he could up his work rate a touch, i think everything will come together for him...

Carrick came 4th in the defensive stats for midfielders last season in the premiership i believe.... But he is not a defensive midfielder. Never said he was but his stats defensively for a United style box to box type player are good, he has much to work on yet if he is to succeed long-term. How much he would play if Hargreaves were around might be something to consider. Although im impressed with the possesion increase since he's been here, thats been missing for a long time.

If we had both Hargreaves and Carrick, it'd depend on the position we face... having said that, Sir Alex migh haveplayed 451 if we had them both... hopefully we will find out soon enough

Lol fuckin ell, didn't think it was going to be that easy. I'd like to go on for pages praises United, and yeh, they did play very well today, but Liverpool were so poor. Kuyt looked like the only player who could be arsed. The whole team played well for us, particularly Evra, Giggs and Scholes... but Man of the Match has to be Darren Fletcher. He always works his arse off, and today it really seemed to be paying off. He was everywhere, winning balls and going forward. Was Fergie right about him all along? Didnt really see what happened for the first goal because it was down at the other end. Great for Scholesy to get a goal on his 500th game for us against our bigget rivals. And Rio's goal? Lol fuckin ell. Cant wait to see that on MOTD tonight. We all knew Anton could score cracking goals, glad to see Rio didnt miss out on those genes! Have to say, the Liverpool support was shocking. Sang You'll Never Walk Alone before kick off, and before the restart of the 2nd half... and then starting singing a song in the 2nd half, which was drowned out by United's cheers for them finally starting up a song. Very strange, because they're usually a vocal lot. Ripped Gerrard to shreds lol. All the transfer request songs, and whenever he fouled anyone, messed up a pass/shot, took a corner, it was "Chelsea rent boy" lol. What does that bloke have to do to get a booking as well?? Want to see Crouch taking VDS out again, looked like a straight red to me! All in all, very chuffed with the result, although it would have been nice to have a bit of competition for the points. United, top of the league, United United top of the league

I think our game was lacking a special something, I think there's plenty more to come from United and we still beat Liverpool so easy, without Ronaldo and Heinzé..
Were was all the ferocity, all the hunger, desire?...Liverpool should have been battling like Arsenal did, proving they were not out the title race yet they just rolled over and let us beat 'em too damn easy. Fletcher ran the midfield...OMG, Fletcher ran Gerrard ragged... EASY! EASY! EASY!
Scholes intelligence in running to collect Giggs' pass was typical Scholes and you just knew he'd score today. Rio's goal was great, who was he pointing at?..lol. What a piece of control, faked the defender and unleashed a top corner rocket..WOAAAH, are you sure that was Rio?..
Enjoyed sitting in the Stretford End, I don't usually get the opportunity and I got it for this game, of all games. Was great..I need a season ticket mannnnnnn!
So that's Liverpool's title ambitions over for another season, what's that now "17 YEARSSSSSSSSS"? haha!
My man of the match was Darren Fletcher

Was Stevie Gerrard even playing today... didn't look like it. We played some great football today, Lovely goals, lovely play, Liverpool didn't really pose much of a threat. Another three points and long may it continue! Exactly. Thats the 2nd time Evra has given Gerard nothing. And Sissoko? Scholes made him look like a child today. Legend. It was great to go into this game with a proper midfield and they were all superb. I know Liverpool were shite but this was a massive game for this team. They'll take a lot of belief from this and we can push Chelsea all the way this season. Lampard's deflections can't always keep hitting the back of the poxy net.

No special man of the match or outstanding individual performances for me today, just a fully deserved, true team effort. Everybody did their shift.

No doubt this was a good performance today but watching Arsenal beating Reading 4-0 was scary. They played some amazing football and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
Providing we don't do anything stupid, our title aspirations will come down how we perform against Arsenal and Chelsea in the three games to come. A win and 2 draws needed I think.

My man of the match was Darren Fletcher Liverpool just haven't been convincing so going into it I felt that ARSEnal was going to be our first real big challenge. The scousers have been lackluster from their pre-season and while ARSEnal were having their troubles, their gameplay showed promise. Rafa needs to find his first team and stick with it otherwise he'll give us more to smile about next time we face them and I'd be delighted to see us beat them at Anfield.
