Great result today, not the best performance but results are the important thing right now. I thought the ref was pretty shit throughout, can't blame him for the pen though because EVERYONE would have given that pen on first sight, glad Saha put it away but I thought Ronny was our new penalty taker Giggs had another below par game for me, hopefully he'll pick himself up for Benfica and Fletcher did quite well filling in for Carrick, though if anyone was going to hobble off injured I would have wanted it to have been him (not that I wanted anyone injured obviously). Now onto the important midweek game.

glad Saha put it away but I thought Ronny was our new penalty taker Yeah, i was expecting Ronaldo to take the penalty. But at least Saha scored from it. I was glad that we acted quickly after Boro scored, i think Fletchers goal came about a minute and a half after we conceded. Giggs looked a bit off form, but i think Scholes had a great match. Main thing is, we took the three points and Chelsea will go into their next game six, or possibly nine points behind us!

I was expecting Ronnie to take the pk as well, o well Saha made it and hopefully if he lost any confidence against celtic he got it back. The ref was pretty bad throughout the game. Was anyone else worried for a moment when Roon was limping for a bit. I was, him being injured is the last thing in the world we need.

good win that was not a pen no way but you have to take the luck when it comes your way.

Always rated Fletcher Glad we took the lead so close to them equalising. Unlike the 90s, United seem to panic when we reach the 70/75th minute and we're not winning, so we needed to get a leading goal asap. Well taken by Darren and all. Not sure about how controversial the penalty was. Firstly, it wasn't a Ronaldo dive, because once beating the keeper, there would be no reason to as he had an open goal, and it clearly shows he stumbled. Secondly, there wasn't any contact, but no thanks to the keeper. He made no effort to go for the ball, and so intent was enough for it to be awarded. Pleased Saha took it. He needed to get over the Celtic miss. Wasn't a great penalty though. 6 points clear. Get in.

dude take the rose tinted specks off ronaldo was diving all over the place today i love united but dont want to see that shit im just glad we got the 3 points at a hard place to go, all you need is intent by the keeper but look how he keeps his leg in there mate no way.

Yeh Ronaldo did dive today, but not for the penalty. We all know too well what Ronaldo looks like when he dives, unfortunately, and there's no way that was a dive. He tripped. It would make no sense for him to dive when he had an open net to put the ball in to.

But the pk wasn't a dive, it didn't look like it like you said and you could clearly see him stumble a bit before falling as well.

Ageed, he did dive a lot today I think we all can admit that. I wouldn't say he dived a lot, the only time I remember him doing it was when he left his leg in on Boateng, the penalty was definately soft and had it gone against us I'd be fuming, I think Ronaldo was expecting the contact and just started falling, then he realised he hadn't been touched and tried to stand up but ended up stumbling and falling over, not exactly honest play but it proved vital and after seeing Arsenals penalties I'll take it, would liked to have seen him stay on his feet and bury it though (at least for my fantasy footy team)

He hit it with the top of the inside of his foot...I wanted Ronny to take it

We played well the first half and had Boro on the defensive. The second half we weren't as convincing and I kept getting more nervous with each corner Boro won. Oh where oh where has our Giggsy gone? He hasn't been at the top of his game as of late, but I'm sure he'll bounce back. As for Ronaldo there was no question about the penalty but he was going down rather easily which I'm not a fan of, especially with in the tangle with Boateng. I too was glad to see Saha take the penalty because he didn't deserve to get pulled from that role just because of one miss as he's it was the exception and not the rule. He needed to get his confidence back up so this result will help.
