Leave Heinze alone, he's been injured a lot, he's been fighting back to fitness. Everyone has been giving Rooney so much slack it's ridiculuous, and Heinze doesn't get the same back because he loves his country? Newsflash, he is argentinian, not Mancunian, and that's a lot of players these days that love their countries more than their clubs. Rooney went to the World Cup and he could have wrecked his career doing it. Our problem defensively today was that Rio had a couple of naps again, something he has avoided all season. Heinze had one hell of a save at one point. But our main problem laid offensively. We couldn't score, or midfield except for Ronaldo wasn't providing anything, Rooney had another horrible match. Don't pick on Heinze because he's not as good going forward as Evra, because that's what it comes down to, Evra has had a blinding this season and so deserves his place on the team, but that does not mean it is Heinze's fault that we lost today. well said

What up with Giggs lately? I think he's been off for weeks now and if we had any sort of replacement for him I think he would have been dropped by now but as it is I suppose we just can't drop him, he was superb at the beginning of the season but lately he's been crap and needs a kick up the arse.

we definately need some more players in jan but what worries me is that any new players will take time to gel.

I’m not going to bother reading the replies in this thread, not because I’m being rude, far from it, but because from what I’ve been told so far, a lot of people are blaming Heinze’ love for his Country on the defeat today, which I find pretty ridiculous. Considering the circumstances, what he’s been through, he played his heart out today. Heading away everything he could. Ok he didn’t have a blinder but who did? We lost because West Ham scored and we didn’t. We were all over them statistic wise, but who cares about statistics? Not me. Its goals that count and we were unable to score, simple as. If we’re going as low as singling out an individual, why not start with Rooney, or Giggs? They struggled to make an impact on the game. Or how about Rio and his lack of concentration on more than one occasion, Carrick for not taking control of the midfield, or Scholes for not tracking Reo-Cokers run? If blaming an individual makes people feel better then go right ahead but football is a team game, we win as a team and we lose as a team and today we just simply weren’t good enough in front of goal.

Definitely agree, it's not Heinze's fault he loves his country, as English people, I guess we don't quite understand it as much, but playing for Argentina is a far more of an honour than someone playing for England.
I thought Heinze was alright today, clearly he's not 100%, but defensively he's solid as a rock.
I think the only problems today, was that we couldn't find the killer pass, but I'm sure we'll bounce back.

Deano, it was me who brought up Heinze's love for his country. But, I did not once say it lost us this game today in fact I pointed out about seven players who should have played better today.
What I said was that his performances this season for us have been way below his standards set, I have no problem with him loving his country, it's good that he does but I feel he should show the same passion and desire for United - something I don't think he does. We pay his wages, we've stuck by him and yet he doesn't do it for me.
I'm someone who demands 100% from every player and today we never got it from most. If we lose but players have given their all, then fair enough but when Gabi has been below par for most of the season it ticks me off and I don't like to see it with United players. I'm not singling him out but I just feel he could give more to the United cause and that has nothing to do with today's result.

I think I may have overreacted earlier, saying that Heinze doesn't care for United. I was definetly way to harsh on him, it wasn't his fault we lost the game, though I fell he could have played better, but then again so could Giggs and Rooney, and about five others. We put together a bad performance and it was a game I thought we should have won and I was angry. So I would like to apologize to anyone that I made angry or offended in my rage.

If you don't put away one of the 30 chances you shouldn't get anything from a match. The most irritating was Chelski were shite today and didn't really deserve to get anything from their match either.

Obviously the game has been dissected in previous threads so I don't plan to do the same. I just wanted to say though that I thought there was a definite lack of hunger from our team today, whereas the opposition were well up for it (for obvious reasons). Where's the "fire in the belly" gone? At times we went sideways across the midfield so much that I thought Butch "the crab" Wilkins was back - LOL! (apologies in advance to any younger readers who don't know what the fuck I'm talking about!) I can't bear to look at any other sites today, the gloating would be too much and with a quiet day at work ahead I have no idea what I'm gonna do to pass my time! Roll on the next game!
