The most amazing start to a game Ive ever seen from Man Utd. Then we sat back a bit and the game got a little dull. Then 2nd half Reading just exploded and Little really made an impact for the team. Richardson should be dumped as soon as possible. I dont even care if we get any money for him...he is absolutly lost out there. Bad first touch...cant sense when there is pressure on him.... way too hesitant and really foolish with some of his actions. He makes stupid tackles that are late and not necessary and he also kicks the ball away a lot and just stupid stuff like that. I cant beleive I liked him as a player last season

Honestly I don't know what to say. I can bitch about this absolutely pitiful performance for hours. Even with only 3 regular starters in VDS Saha and Rio there is no reason that we should have had that much trouble. And Richardson, don't even get me started, he passed the ball three times in the entire game. The back line was pathetic. Brown disappointed me as well as Silvestre. I don't know what else to say, pathetic performance. Just got lucky with the quick start.

Too true about Saha, he looked very good.

Yeah Saha looked to be the best for us today.

Silvestre was actually better than Heinzé, but people don't like to pick up on that.
This was Fletcher's poorest performance this season and I don't think people should start jumping on the bandwagon again of criticising him.
As for Richardson, I disagree with some of the criticism he's got.

I am really really disappointed our starters didn't gave Smith a chance to get some playing time in by such a sloppy last 70 minutes! Saha started so well but after his first successfull runs he just couldn't stop behaving like an only child!

apart from setting up the 3rd goal richardson did nothing except pass the ball to reading players 95% of the time he lost/gave the ball away i think its time richardson said goodbye to united because he is utter garbage i hope he never plays for us again!

Fuckin ell reds, my blood pressure could do without that. Groaned when I saw the lineup, our midfield looked SO weak. O'Shea and Fletcher in the centre of midfield is just asking for trouble. Thank God for those three early goals. Lol I was pretty hysterical by the time the 3rd went in. Ole's was the best of the lot. Still, job done. Through to the next round whilst giving most of our players a rest for Anfield. Great stuff.

Glad that ones out the way. Real shame we played so poorly second half that Smudger didn't get on.

Definitely big positive from the game, only two or maybe three (depending who starts up front) started the game: Van Der Sar, Ferdinand and Saha. Rooney and Ronaldo wouldn't have broke into a sweat. So that's great news from the game as well as of course going through.

O'Shea and Fletcher in the centre of midfield is just asking for trouble. . Yup, one or the other and we usually get away with it but together they just aren't good enough to be the engine of our team and I hope we don't see them in there together again. There were poor performances throughout the team tonight though and we seemed to lack the composure and quality to keep Reading at bay which encouraged them and made it a nervy end, at least we're through though and as others have said Saha looked pretty sharp tonight even if he is a greedy bastard ;D

I almost called for a medic towards the end of that game. My wife was not impressed with the language coming from the lounge! I think in the first instance, credit has to be given to Reading for bouncing back after a hellish first 6 minutes. Man U started to stroll thereafter, and never really got going again. Saha was superb on the whole. The defence was dire. Loads of poor, mistimed clearances that went to Reading players in or around the box; most of which came from Heinze. The midfield was poor; especially Richardson. Overall, a poor performance with very few players to come out of it with some credit. A shame Smith didn't get a chance, given the poor performances from many of the players on the pitch. Hopefully, we will play better against the bin dippers.
