I'm happy enough with that. Dont know what on earth Scholes was playing at tonight. Silly behaviour.
But 2-1 I'd take with 11 men. If this team can only beat us by 1 goal at home, when we played with 10 men for an hour, then it doesn't really bode well for them at Old Trafford. Put it this way, if we'd won 2-1 in the first leg against a team who'd played most of the game with 10 men, I'd be fucked off.
Rooney's goal was sublime. Great run from Ronaldo, perfect ball to Ole, beautiful ball from Ole, and incredible control and finish by Rooney. The all important way goal scored with such class.
And the Italian police beat the shite out of our fans eh. Thank fuck they're staying behind for 90 minutes afterwards. They need protection against the old bill as much as they do the ultras. Fucking disgusting behaviour. Our fans on the ground being repeatedly beaten by those bastards.

i am still sad...i dont know what to do now...ronaldo had to do most of the attacking job and he was great, and rooney wasnt bad either...WHY SCHOLES WHY!...oh i am angry at scholes now...he was the one to help us...but he didnt this time and he will miss next match...so sad...and fletch great work son, he helped alot, oshea on the right doesnt work...i hope neville and silvestre come back from nowhere for the next tie, hoping for a miracle now...but 2-1 isnt that bad, the second goal was a bit of luck for roma...god damn italians, i hope at OT the fans will show how we do it in england and sing non-stop...and cheer so much for the team...we have to win we will win! 2-0 next tie...come on reds...

Well firstly, we have the beating of them at Old Traffirord no problem, they're abysmal at the back and theres no way we can get anywhere near as bad a reff as that where you can't stand next to someone who heads the ball..
Secondly, that reff was shit, no 2 ways about it. Rooney stood still next to a player heading the ball and he gave Roma free-kicks repeatedly for competing for 50-50 headers, stupidity.
I think someone like Smith would've taken that game and won it with the way he plays the defenders at their own game, standing his ground and holding the ball. If nothing else this game also showed why we need Hargreaves just incase anybody was in doubt. Their pessistant shooting and running through our central midfield was badly defended, always backing off.
Perotta dived to get a penalty, if the penalty wasn't given its scandalous that a yellow wasn't for his dive, but he misses the next leg reguardless so it's not worth complaining about.
Don't know what all that was about United complaining about 2 balls being on the pitch when the first goal went in, didn't see it but there's nothing that can be done about it now.
That away goal was priceless, with their dodgy defence at OT, United can wrap that up

Tough game to watch. Had that terrible feeling where you knew the chances of us getting a really good result was going to be hard. But as some have mentioned a 2-1 scoreline isnt bad at all. We got our away goal and it could have been a lot worse if Roma knew how to hit the net.
Im really pissed off about the ref though. He gave every little bit of contact as a freekick for Roma. And what about Perottas dive??? They were saying that Ronaldo is the diver and half their team was out there doing that.

Besides scholes, I thought O'Shea was our worst player! I cannot believe that fergie is sticking by this guy! He is so poor, particularly in defense. Anywho,
Rooney and Ronaldo played very well tonight and i was glad to see Ronaldo not falling as easily as he sometimes does. Instead, ironically, it were the Roman fucks that were falling left and right...Hypocrisy at its greatest.
As Scott said, i would be pissed if we were at home playing 11 v 10 and only won 2-1. Im glad Roma were too cocky to actually pass the ball in attack and instead trying to take long shot after long shot.
Lastly, we obviously missed Vida and Nev as their replacements were well below average. Hope they make speedy recoveries to finish the fight for the FA Cup and Prem.

A few petulant fouls from Scholes, I don't know why he went in for that last one but some of the fouls they commited against us the ref felt didn't warrant yellows and were far worse than Scholes so I blame the ref.
Ronaldo was Brilliant tonight and Ole and a Great finish from Rooney (relief) who hopefully will have a strong finish to the season now.
Have to be honest the Utd fans were stupid tonight, reacting like that. There was a huge barrier seperating both fans so why run over what was the point? Roma fans taunted we took the bait and got a kicking from the Police.
Is "Ultra" the Italian word for Police? Just a thought!

Could have been a lot lot worse. Did well in the end to come away with a reasonable result. Gives us a good chance at Old Trafford.
Thank fuck Rooney has scored again in Europe, let it lead to a run of goals please.
Stupid from Scholes. A number of factors why it happened- we don't have somebody who can tackle in the middle so Scholes feels compelled. Scholes is a hot head and can't tackle to save his life. We were playing far too deep and inviting too much pressure on to us.
As for the fans and the police at half time- if i was one of those police officers i would quite happily have used my truncheon on those dumb fucking fans who charged at the barriers. Incited or not, at the end of the day they are plain thick for getting involved in something like that.
