I can't wait for this game, Nani and Ronaldo going back, and showing how good they are. Possibly Evans or Pique starting should be interesting. I hope we go out their and finally hit our goal scoring form.

Playing Pique is something which should only be done when we're either missing players, in cups, playing shit premiership teams - not when we've got a really tough game away in Champions League.

Playing Pique is something which should only be done when we're either missing players, in cups, playing shit premiership teams - not when we've got a really tough game away in Champions League. agreed. but he is quite a player for his age, i mean everywhere he has been he has been great, the spanish u21 etc, at zaragoza, for us reserves, now he deserves a proper chance but an away CL game that matters isnt the ideal debut for him i suppose. carling cup will be coming up soon and we shall see more of him there and hopefully fa cup and more as sub in the premiership, he will certainly be used more now when silvestre is injured |

I wasn't suggesting that they should. It just seems like one of might, with Sivelstre, and O Shea out, Fergie might opt to play one of them. But most likely It will be Nani and Ron on the wings Giggs up front and evra at left back. Just innocent speculation on my behalf

Despite potentially having 4 men who can play wide (Evra, ronnie, nani, giggs), only Evra will offer us any width, I imagine.
I wouldn't mind giving Carrick or Scholes given a rest so that one of them is fresh for Sunday.
Saha should start so he has a full match before Chavski, and I really do want to see Fletch back. Fergie will probably go with Nani and Ronaldo on the wings, hopefully at least one of them actually plays there.
The back four should stay as Brown--Rio--Vida--Evra. We're waiting for Gaz to return, but for some lower pressure games (which away in Portugal is not) perhaps Simpson will get a go.

Still feel we have to field the strongest line up possibly only player i would rest would be giggs with Saha and Tevez up front and Nani on the left . Cant take Sporting lightly.

I doubt that SAF will start with 2 strikers. I reckon he will pack the midfield like we did on numerous occasions last season. If Hargreaves, Fletcher, Oshea are out then it will be interesting to see who we play in the middle. I feel Giggs,Carrick,Scholes,Ronaldo + 1 other in the middle with Saha playing as the lone man. Will be fantastic if he plays Tevez but i figure that we will be carefull. Dont want to lose the first game and then having to play catch up for the remainder of the group stages. I will be satisfied with a scoring draw...

Looks formidable though I do think Nani might get the go ahead because he's been playing well and his crossing isn't half bad, that way we'll have Giggsy back for Sunday's match. I certainly hope we have Saha back because Tevez by himself just doesn't work. I like Tevez but I'd rather Saha since it's where he should be; I'll start growing impatient with Saha if he's not back for either the S.Lisbon or Chelsea matches. |
