Giggsy just look knackered, he needs to be rested. Scholesy still looks tired too. Last season took a lot out of both of em. Giggs had 3 weeks off. He played against Spurs, didnt appear for against Sunderland and then there was the international break. And he still looks tired. He's not cut out to be playin in the middle.

i couldnt believe what i saw. many things to point out really. First it was a great atmosphere, sporting fans are really great, they are getting behind their team even though at times they looked like shit. and the ovation for ronaldo was great. and dont forget the united fans we heard time to time second of all, the pitch was shit, real shite, they have to do something about it. Giggs really has to play on the left, he just isnt the kind to do it in the middle, even though he looked jaded today as well, it was a good match from giggs, nothing special though . Good to see ronaldo after the hour mark getting the old spark and a goal. It was good to see rooney getting some play because he really didnt look match fit. Saha looked good, and nani is still growing into the team but i have to say he has really has done well coming into the team and his passing are a bit better and movement is alot better. van der sar was brilliant. LAST thing is that United had a period were we looked to be the old United, really good this, if we werent that cautious and the pitch wasnt that bad i think we would have done much better. and EVEN though the back four at times looked shaky for some, i think it was great to see the old type back not letting them play their way through and letting them have shots from far away and crosses which we can deal with. Brilliant away win, lets take it back home and get our minds set to kick chelsea.

Sky Sports really shoved down the stats of lack of goals and European away wins down our throats. May as well have written it under the score bar.
But yeah, great game from Van Der Sar, and any away way in the group stages is great.

I thought Van Der Sar had one of, if not his best game for United, he was fantastic Giggsy looked well off what's needed at that level, he hasn't looked up to it all season. Good for Rooney to get time on the clock and lucky for United to get away with risking it!

Thats a good point actually. What happened to Silvestre could have happened to any player today with such a shitty pitch. I was also kind of expecting a Paul Robinson kind of blunder with the ball bouncing over one of the keepers kicks

Vidic Vds and Ronnie were brilliant but for most of the game i was wondering what or if any tactics had been talked about . Vidic is the type of central defender we have been crying out for since stam , sticks his head where most players dont stick there foot . Ok we are getting results but we have to step up and take more control of games . Stick to 442 the united way ,give giggs a rest and when he comes back put him on the left .

Good to see Rooney back and Saha and Anderson get a run out. #clap#
Is it my imagination or has Saha beefed up?! #weight#

Nice to be able to win 1-0. Lacklustre for most of the match but stepped it up we needed to.

Good for Rooney to get time on the clock and lucky for United to get away with risking it! VDS made two great saves and while it wasn't the most exciting match ever the bottom line is we got the 3 points which given our away record in the CL is a good thing. My only concern has been that we haven't looked confident going forward once we get close to the box which can hurt us if we need to score goals quickly. It's still early though so let's see how things develop.
