I'd imagine it's the old "rest the entire first team" routine being dusted off again. I'll go with a 2-0 win as well.

I reckon he'll play Rooney to keep his fitness level increasing.

I reckon he'll play Rooney to keep his fitness level increasing. I should think Rooney or Saha will be there or thereabouts, but probably Anderson and Campbell to start. Gibson broke a toe ruling him out of this according to the United site a few days ago. Don't suppose by some miracle Nev will make the bench, then again Bardsley and Simpson deserve their chances anyway as both of them are good enough to play in the premiership and have barely been on the United bench. Bardsley played in the middle alongside Pique a bit in Pre - season, might be the way they start, although i'm not sure the intention was to play Evans at left back in the long term, or was it?

I think he will rest VDS. Kuszczak always plays in Cup matches. I hope there will be a 3-0 win.

Wayne Rooney has pleaded with Alex Ferguson to let him play in tomorrow's Carling Cup tie with Coventry at Old Trafford.
Under normal circumstances, Rooney would be excused involvement as Ferguson takes the opportunity to give him less experienced players some exposure at senior level.
However, two games into his comeback from a broken foot, Rooney is desperate to face Iain Dowie's men — and has even laid claim to the captain's armband.
"Wayne Rooney's been in my ear wanting to play," Ferguson said. "He wants to play, he wants to be the captain, he wants to take the penalties, the corners, the free-kicks, the goal-kicks, the lot."
Rooney is likely to get his wish, even if it is just to get Ferguson a bit of peace.
The England striker will be joined by fellow first-team stars Anderson and Nani and, possibly, John O'Shea, who has missed three games after injuring his knee on Republic of Ireland duty in the Czech Republic a fortnight ago.
Tellingly though, Owen Hargreaves was not among a list of players Ferguson confirmed will be involved, a firm indication the England man is still to recover from a thigh injury suffered in training with the national team three weeks ago.
"There is a real buzz about the place and we are really looking forward to it," said Ferguson. "It will be a fantastic atmosphere and I am sure Coventry will have a real go.
"From what I am led to believe, Coventry are bringing over 10,000 fans with them.
"They were one of the longest-serving top-flight clubs at one point but they have been out of the Premier League now, which probably explains the attraction. It should be a real cup tie."

I have more confidence in Tomas than I used to. But, saying that, I'd like to see Heaton get a run out. Your PE teacher is a Coventry fan? Someone has to be I suppose.

Thats the spirit....I love this guy!!! you can see when he's on the pitch he loves playing football and he doesn't play only for money he plays first cos he loves being on the pitch and kick the ball!! Do u guys think Fergie will bring Neville on the bench? By the way i say 3-0 United

If i'm honest i have less confidence in him now than i did this time last season. Haha, I'll tell him you said that. My other P.E. teacher is a Norwich fan.
