I know Cristiano was coming back from a stomach virus, and there is the laser issue, but it seemed to me Lyon had his number last night. I'd like to see a lot more from him against European squads.

I'm glad we're going back to OT with an away goal, while going back 1-0 down wouldn't have been catastrophic we're in much better shape now. I was hoping our midfield would have done a bit better especially Hargreaves who was the player I thought would do well. Tevez came on and immediately made an impact, thank god for that goal!

Ronaldo seemed too selfish last night and unnecessarily hogged the ball too much and most his shots ended up getting blocked by the defenders.

good game, could be better but 1-1 is good result at the beggining it looked like there was no intention to win by both teams, united didnt rush and lyon wanted to secure their net and eventually score benzema score a goal from nowhere, skill that world class strikers have good response from united but with no real chances to score but tevez get a goal and important away goal

It is now extremely safe to say, Giggs and Scholes should never start away games now.

It is now extremely safe to say, Giggs and Scholes should never start away games now. I'd have to agree with you to a degree. Giggs is getting old, as is Scholes. Don't get me wrong, these are probably my two favourite players ever (After Roy Keane) but they're running out of steam. Not so sure If I wouldn't start them ever, but they definitely need to be used increasingly sparingly.

It's amazing. Before the City game predictions were of 4-0 United. After the City game and predictions for Arsenal were 1-0 to the Gooners or 1-1 if we were lucky now people are expecting us to thump Lyon away from home. I wouldn't put it past us though just making a point. I said we'd beat Lyon 3 : 0 and we will. I actually said the city game would be hard and we'd do well to come away with a win. And I predicted a win (not by 4 goals) against Arsenal. We WILL beat Lyon well. and Asenal will lose against Milan, and if it weren't for a scouse ref last night Liverpool would have lost aswell. Chelsea will win though. ;D You're on fire with them predictions, mate.

I agree about the midfield. Our problem with the midfield is giving everyone a chance to get games under their belts. I want Benzema. I wonder if the players are bugging Fergie about it, the way they did with Cristiano after playing against him in Portugal.

It is now extremely safe to say, Giggs and Scholes should never start away games now. They're both legends but I do see them more in the super sub catagory now than starters. I love Giggsy and he gives it his all but there just comes a time when you just can't maintain the performance level of a 20 year old no matter how hard you try. Scholesy has the benefit of the doubt being he has been out for a while but I feel the same way about him as well, though pace isn't vital for him as Giggs.

I dont think we need a striker, if saha can stay fit we wont have a problem, and none of us are moaning about our midfield, this is a united forum and we are discussing our midfield, not moaning

IF Saha stays fit which is highly unlikely.

whats to say that a striker we bring in wont get injured, we are better off sticking with saha, he is bound to get a run of games together
