Giggs is out, I think. Vidic is fit. I doubt that two strikers will start, Rooney on his own will be the most likely. Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Scholes - Hargreaves - Anderson - Nani
Rooney It'll be either Anderson or Carrick, I think Scholes and Hargreaves will start. It's amazing last season it was Scholes - Carrick, every game bar injury and now we have are spoilt for selection. I gotta feeling Lyon will score first but United will win. 3 - 1

I think we should have 2 strikers, Rooney and Tevez, and let Ronaldo and Nani operate with Scholes, while Hargreaves shields the defense.

Would like to see Fletcher get a run out he has proved to be a big game player but not sure who you would drop .Also i would start with Rooney and Saha up front we need to use our pace against them and kill them off early,Saha will score sure of it...

not doubting the boy Anderson but i think Scholes will start purely for his experience,, if we need to freshen it up in the second half then we can bring on Anderson or Carrick

I'm always nervous before massive games like this, but I'm feeling confident after our recent performances. The fact each one of our center mids is world class makes the starting line up difficult, but I'm going to have to go with 442 and Carrick over Scholes, only because Scholes played 90 minutes against Fulham. And sorry Anderson and Nani, you guys have been playing brilliantly lately, but we need experience.
VDS Brown Rio Vidic Evra Hargreaves
Ronaldo Carrick Giggs
Tevez Rooney

goalkeeper, front two and defense pick themselves, in midfield other than ronaldo its anyones guess who fergie will play. imo giggs should not start as he is not fully fit, to be honest fergie could play anderson there and and hargreaves with carrick or scholes, for the sake of freshness i'd take carrick.

I am really excited about this one and think we're in for a cracking game. For those lucky enough to be going - sing the roof off for the lads! (and on behalf of those of us that will only be there in spirit!)

il be honest.... even though i want him to, i dont think there is much chance that nani will start the game. I fully expect the team to be unchanged from the away leg, but with rooney on left wing and tevez upfront....with the possibility that carrick will play instead of anderson....
Vds Brown Rio Vida Evra
Hargreaves Scholes Anderson/Carrick
Ronaldo Rooney Tevez
with nani and saha coming on if things are going pearshaped

We don't actually need to win this game, but that's not the United way.
I didn't see anything in France to suggest a United win at home. Which would break a Champions League record.

Hargreaves will have to be careful. He's on a yellow card.
Evra:
"I think that game <Roma> is in the minds of a lot of players who come here on European nights," he said. "I have spoken to a few of the Lyon players and their goalkeeper, Grégory Coupet, joked with me that he doesn't want to be in goal for another 7-1. It was unique, but it can affect teams. That's why we need to test Lyon from the start."

Depending on the traffic coming back maybe online later, if not speak to you all tomorrow and enjoy the game.

I can understand the need for caution but we do better keeping teams at by by attacking than sucking the life out of matches. There's nothing that gets on my nerves more than playing defensively when we have much better options. A team like Lyon will score quickly on the break but we have the defenders that should be able to deal with Benzema and Fred, not to mention keeping Juninho at bay. Have the courage to play 4-4-2 Fergie we know you can do it!

My team:
-----------------------------------VDS
Brown---------------Rio-----------------Vidic-----------Evra
-----------------------------Hargreaves
-------------Anderson-------------------Scholes
Ronaldo---------------------------------------------------Tevez
--------------------------------Rooney
I would rather us play Hargreaves for this match as Lyon only need 1 goal to make this tie very interesting so we need that back 4 defence.
2-1 to us i'm going for.
Has anyone else who’s going been moved from their usual seats? Or anyone sit in East stand T2? I’ve been moved up there for this game again.
