8 million release clause= much less of a risk. But thats the thing, its still a risk.. and he's already 28 so is it really worth the risk?

Im not really sure to be honest mate! Few of the lads on here would love him at Old Trafford but after I watched him bottle it with the penalty against Arsenal, it made me wander whether he'l have the bottle to rise to the pressures of English football

Yeah Im a deffo want him at OT !
I don't think he will be another Veron at all and a lot of people said he didn't make it @ Barca, well he was played out of position on the left flank and they only got rid when they signed Ronaldinho

Why not use the money we are apparently getting from the obi mess to bring him in? Still got a good 4 years left in him.

Nolan, Reo-Coker, Aimar possibly.. Schweinsteiger, Van der vaart, so many young people we should get instead of Riquelme!, Nolan the most ideal imo, very experienced in the English game and he IS English.

I'd like to see Nolan join us as well, just we seem to have been linked with Riquelme a lot more than we have Nolan...but then that could be a good thing (ie silent transfer dealings)

IMO Nolan is not good enough and will never be good enough to play for Manchester United.
Van der vaart and Schweinsteiger - Aren't they both wingers?
Reo-Coker - one for the future, man marked Gerrard in the FA Cup final and did a good job although Gerrard scored two so it shows there is much room for improvement.
Riqueleme is 28 and hitting his peak great for another 3 seasons at least and he's done it all on the biggest stage, country and CL
Currently keeps Aimar out of the Argy squad too
We put a bid in a couple of weeks back according to Spanish media, and I believe we already have in the bag

I've only really seen news about how Rooney would be excited to see him join and how Riquelme himself secretly supports us. You got some links to these reports?

Using the £10m we may get from the Obi-Mikel deal, we could use that to trigger his release clause and have £2m left over. That would mean we hadn't touched our transfer budget set at the end of the season.
I think Fergie is going to watch him in the World Cup to be honest because his cost cannot go up, so it would be best to do so.
