Strong rumours circulating this morning that we are set to bid for Wigan's James McCarthy. I think he is going to be a cracking player.

I think he's a good player but i think he could do with another year of first team football at Wigan before moving up.

while its always good to have youngsters i dont see how we need this. we got pogba and morrision comming through. we kind of need a more mature proven midfielder.
but i guess if the price is good then it might be a good buy

Good player going to be a star for the Republic can not wait to see him in action with the green shirt on him. Doubt that we are going to make a move for him.

I read this rumor in the paper about a week ago, he'd be a nice addition but I wouldn't be happy going into the season without bringing in a experienced central midfielder. A world class player is need and although Mc Carthy has potential I don't think he'll be a world beater.

experience is key if we are going young then they have to be absolutely exceptional and this lad is not that, wigan also want 20 million its a no brainer

Well, if that was what we were doing I'd be quite excited, but I just know it's going to be Carrick/Fletcher/Anderson/Gibson all the time.
