Can we not just change wherewereuin99's username back to WhiskeyNose? #clap# #thumb# Seriously though, James McCarthy ain't good enough. And let's be honest, if he's enough of a cock that Wayne wanted to give him a friendly tap to the back of his head, he's obviously not really got the right attitude either, does he? Eh Bestie?? So Wayne is an angel!? To be fair to McCarthy, he didn't go rolling on the ground did he? He rubbed his head and played on. It was a red mist moment from Wayne, rather than McCarthy acting the cock.

What I meant was, Rooney decided to do what he did. Either Rooney was being arbitrarily violent, or McCarthy did or said something that made Wayne want to hit him. I find it unlikely that Wayne would lash out for no good reason other than the person's there, so my figuring is it must be the latter. It's all irrelevant really though, as McCarthy isn't good enough for us anyway.

Mccarthy is an excellent prospect and to casually say he is not good enogh for us is short sighted to say the least. I have watched him many times and think he is going to be a real star in the not to distant future. In my opinion he would get into our midfield in no time at all. I wouldnt dismiss this player that easy.

Well, I've seen plenty of him for Hamilton Accies and quite a bit of him last season due to my Cleverley watch. He's an alright player, pretty good at this, solid at that. But he's nothing special. He's already in his 20's too, early 20's I'll give you but still. We have younger players who are already better than him, and we don't need another prospect. McCarthy isn't good enough to improve our midfield for the right now, and by the time he could we'll hopefully have better players ready to start from the youth ranks anyway.

If we could get Strootman and McCarthy for CM in the summer I'd be happy - both young, energetic, get stuck in and can pass. Certainly an upgrade on what we currently have.

Mc Carthy is the stand out Rep of Ireland player by a mile (Coleman is pretty useful) and has been very good any time I've seen him for Wigan. He's always struck me as a player that will improve in a better team, he's made the leap to International football without any problem and s the one irish player that understands the need to hold on to the bloody ball. He might be worth a punt, if the price isn't stupid. But it probably will be.

Its an upgrade only if we have used and found it to be bad. Powell and Clevs are both young , energetic and can pass (although some might think other wise) but have been stuck in bench more often. Can't see is going for Strootman as the price will be high and really he is a Midfield player. We only go in for wingers/strikers unless the said player happens to be in his last year of contract

Apparently Moyes has looked at him regularly for Everton. He was outstanding on Saturday. Going to be a top player.

Mccarthy will be playing for a top 4 club next year. Lets hope it is us,. Or not. Can you really envisage McCarthy battling through a European Cup quarter-final against Bayern Munich? Leading the team in withstanding a seige, a man down, versus Real Madrid in the Last 16? Running the show in the Nou Camp? I can't, so I'd like us to move on and get some real fucking quality into our midfield instead of bargain bucket, second-at-best tier wannabe's.
