It's a long answer haha. Long story short, my mobility, especially in my hips and shoulders was poor, short of forking out £80 a month for physio/massage, I did a bit of research and yoga looked like it'd do what I needed. My partner has always done a bit of yoga, through a Vlog she follows and had a spare mat, so decided I'd give it a go. It's genuinely tough, but I find a lot of the movements help with my weight program, particularly squats and deadlifts as it's strengthend my hamstring chain and eased my hip flexors. It's improved my breath control too. I only do 20 to 30 mins of yoga each time, as you rightly point out, I'm knackered, but my mrs looks forward to doing it with me, so I often oblige so she'll make me a cup of tea after haha. Let me guess, she follows Yoga with Adrienne? But good stuff man, you've gone in hardcore on this. Hope you get where you want to . YogaDownoad.Com ha! Another 7kg and I'll be at 'fighting weight'. I've lost something daft like 45kg in 6 years, for reference.

i really miss working out properly. after i ended my bicycle messenger career i had a lot of problems with my back. multiple slipped discs etc. struggling with depression didnt really help sport activities. about 2 1/2 years ago i started working out again. as most of you know, the hardest part are the first 2-3 months or so, to keep up the motivation and tell yourself to do it again the next day. after about 3 months it became normal and actually pleasant. i was working out like a mad man, sometimes up to 2 hours a day and even in my nightshifts. along with power lifting and all that kind of stuff i went running every 2nd day, started doing medidation, yoga and most importantly animal movement training. i basically learned everything properly by myself as i had no money to take classes etc. out of all the training i did, yoga and especially animal movement training were the toughest, by far. i had never experienced something like the aftermath of 10-15 minutes animal movement. my body was going completely mental, i felt pain in muscles i didnt even know i had. that and yoga made me so mobile, agile and fit it was crazy. problem was that all the training became like a drug to me, thats my character though, i always need a kind of addiction. and i couldnt stop anymore. well it ended with a double slipped disc, the worst pain in my life and not being able to walk for the first 4-5 days. my girlfriend had to dress me up, i was a crook.
the training mix i had was extremely good but because i couldnt stop it anymore, my body at some point said enough is enough. since then i wasnt able to get back to sports, my mental state also doesnt help. but fucking hell, i miss it and i wish and hope that one day i`ll be able to get back to yoga and animal movement. just next time watching it with more care and thought.

Still techinally 'obese' but my muscle mass has rocketed in the last 18 months. Still a bit to go, but really, the goal is to not feel self-conscious with no shirt on by the pool/beach for my holiday.

Do you go to a class or just use online videos? Its something I'd like to try but my hours are stupid at the minute,I get home at night fucked. I'm only working 48 miles away but most nights it's nearly 2 hours to get home. Really need something I can do at home. I go to classes at a local gym. There’s a good starter series called Yoga with Adrien on YouTube that are only 20-30 mins long and she’s a good instructor. Young American lass Just done one of her videos. I can see how it can get addictive! I feel great after a stressful day!

Really struggling to shift this stubborn belly fat. Not after washboard abs or anything, but a flatter stomach would be cool. Other than watching what I eat, what else can I do that I'm probably not already doing?

Isn't the level of stomach fat dependent on body fat percentage? So, calorie deficit and cardio I would assume. (I've not read any of the other posts)

I want to say that sounds reasonable, but I've fallen foul of so much bro-science that I'm gonna investigate later. Haha!

I'm close to joining the gym again, I'm not really doing anything else other than nothing right now and I'm over 26% body fat which is pretty disgusting (talking about me looking at myself).
Problem is that I've done nothing for so long now that I'm don't like being around people anymore :\

Other than watching what I eat, what else can I do that I'm probably not already doing? From my experience, it is all about cardio. HIIT specifically. Worked well for me. I don't have washboard abs either, but it looks nice and flat when i wear a reasonably tight fitting shirt so that's good.

FFS! I properly hate cardio haha! Guess it's on the treadmill and burpee grind then. change your training. use low weight high reps or HIIT - Tabbatta is really good. get an app on your phone. 20/30 seconds on. 20 seconds off. do like a circuit of that : Row/Assault bike/Skip Military Press Squat Press Ups Battle Ropes core work too - plank variations, Sit up variations, leg raises
