I'm fairly certain there will be an old thread about Ben Arfa but a lot has happened since then so I figured a new one wouldn't do any harm!
What would people think if we became interested in him?
He had a huge amount of hype when he was at Lyon with Benzema but it seemed to die down due to from what I've read his attitude. Seems to have his head screwed on now and it producing some delightful football. Bare in mind he's only 23 so still learning.
I for one certainly would have an issue if we did show interest as I think he's the sort of player Fergie could take to the next level, plus he's quick, skilful and most of all left footed!
I can't imagine me being the only one who's thought this so will be interesting to hear other peoples opinions.

I knew his goal at the weekend would get someone's thread finger burning. He's a good player but earlier this season there were Geordies labelling him lazy and primadonna, so a few sparkling performances don't have me convinced just yet.
I think rather than paying over-the-odds for Ben Arfa, we should be getting wise to Newcastle's trick and start paying attention to untapped markets in Europe. They made the decision to scout France and look at how they're being rewarded. Tiote, Cabaye, and Ben Arfa.

We did look at him before by all accounts but he's poison apparently. His ability was never in doubt but he carries serious baggage.

He's not good enough, he's very hot and cold. More cold than hot in my opinion.

Yeah, I was also waiting to see a new thread. He's always been majorly talented, very unfortunate with injuries at crucial stages in his development but let's just hold our horses before handing in our transfer requests. Let's see how he develops till the end of the season but, in my opinion, we won't go for him. Looks a good player though. Sort of like the Tiote thread after he scored that cracker, or any of the similar scenarios  |

Didnt they get Tiote from Twente in Holland? Newcastle's scouting of Europe of the last 2 years has been brilliant in all accounts. We should be taking pointers. For every Hernandez we have a fair few duds, a few to many.

I reckon, instead of Ben Arfa, we should send a contingent of our representatives to Real, hand them an envelope with 17 mil in it, toss Sahin in a van and bring him back to Manchester in time for the rest of the run-in.
Annoying, he's not even in the picture over there:/
Then we can all have a long and relaxed off season knowing we're sorted for next season, barring the addition of a RB and perhaps a CB & striker.
