Oh sweet, have to get on that Flaming Lips album soon!
Also, Strokes' "Room on Fire" and "Is this It?" albums are absolutely fantastic.
Check out Father John Misty if you haven't, really been digging this album lately.

I've hit that age when new music doesn't bother me, just listen to my old stuff now. Actually got To the end by Blur on at the minute.
Didn't think I'd become this person but it's happened, just want to tell the kids to put some "Proper" music on, like the Stone Roses, Zeppelin, Beatles or Oasis. Sad old bastard.

Never really got into Led Zep. Don't really like the Beatles or the Stones either.

I don't think there is one. There have been a few truly great bands, but "Of All Time" is a big statement and music changes so often.
I think purely talent-wise, Mark Knopfler is probably up there as one of the greatest ever. He writes, plays, produces, does it as a solo act, in a band, 'with' other acts. He does everything and he does it brilliantly.
So Dire Straits, by default!

fair enough.
led zeppelin for me. anyone who's only really heard the song stairway to heaven needs to go back and look at the rest of their stuff, starting with the first album. peerless IMO
