This is the way a professional footballer leaves a club, with the bridges to his old club left standing. He showed his professionalism, and also did us a favor by mentioning how good that he was treated by Woody in wrapping up this deal for him and his family.....Class.

I don't disagree with RvP on this. My problem with RvP is that while he says he is "professional" it surely seemed to me that both at Arse and at United he had tendency to take shit happened off the field and let it effect the way he played. I really felt that there were several games last year, after he bitched about how he was not able to get open space, that he just put a stupid ass smile on his face and went about 3/4 speed.
BUT Healthy, and with the mids that are present now, I think that had there been an "honest" chance, RvP could have put stonetoes on the bench based purely on quality

Robin van Persie left Manchester United for Fenerbahce this summer after failing to impress Louis van Gaal last season. Since arriving in Turkey, he has spent most of the season on the bench, and has played 90 minutes on just one occasion.
Van Persie came off the bench in his team’s victory over Bursaspor on Sunday and scored the winning goals, but he has spoken of his unhappiness at his current position.
To be honest, I am not very happy at this moment. I was not happy that I started on the bench. I am fully fit, physically very well and able to play for 90 minutes. The only right answer I could give was with what I did: helping the team to get the victory.
The manager, Vitor Pereira, has claimed that if he could pick more 11 players, Van Persie would get a game. I would play more players if we were allowed to play 22 or 25 players. The players can like or not like what I do, but I must take decisions. I am happy with Van Persie’s performance after being brought on to the pitch. ---------------- Surprised that RvP has not managed to get proper game time in the bloody Turkish League. I would have him back on a loan, if possible, given our strikers situation. He would do well in this system.

I loved RVP when he was with us bad his injuries became a worry for me. Maybe he is benched a lot at Fenerbahce because the manager knows he is injury prone and would rather have him playing for a few minutes each game, supersub?

Pretty expensive super sub then, considering his wages

Maybe this is a non-story in that any striker wants to start but the manager knows that a hungry van Persie is lethal. Give him a taste of the bench, get him fired up again.

BBC Sport: Depay and Robin van Persie in training ground bust-up 6 hours ago Memphis Depay (left) joined United for £31m this summer, a month after Robin van Persie left the club Manchester United's Memphis Depay has been involved in a confrontation with Robin van Persie during a Netherlands training session. Dutch boss Danny Blind confirmed the incident - which occurred before Saturday's 2-1 win over Kazakhstan - but played down its severity. Quoted by www.telegraaf.nl, Blind said: "There are sometimes situations in training where players think different. "Then you talk about it. That's what happened and then it's over." Blind, whose son Daley is a team-mate of Depay's at United, also stressed the episode had had no part in his decision to leave Van Persie out of his starting XI for the Kazakhstan game.

He does tend to be a bit mardy sometimes. Perhaps Deppy was in his passing lane
