I think Ole has us playing well but I’m still finding the fact that he said last night that we’ve ‘two designated penalty takers’ and it’s ‘whoever fancies it at the time’ as well strange.
I mean, different era, different times but the likes of Steve Bruce, Eric and Denis Irwin were designated individual penalty takers in the past. More often than not, minimum fuss, back of the net.
If there’s anybody that you’d expect to fathom that it’s Ole. It’s a bit surprising. As I said last night, it suggests a slight lack of attention to detail in my opinion.
Thought Neville was correct on that score last night, it’s not under age football- it’s the Premier League.
It just baffles me this morning. That’s my rant out of the way before work.

What else do you expect him to say? He's hardly going to throw Pogba under the bus in public is he? Worked well for the last guy....

Ole made a mistake with the penalty system. If he learns from it and grows as a manager, that’ll be great. I hope he does, and think he will.

If you compare the last 2 games against the corresponding fixtures last season, we're 4 points up.
That's all I got, tbf.

One thing from last night- it looks like we’ve stopped giving stupid goals away as a defence. They hit the post from a corner and Neves postage stamped it. Cliche aside, last year we would almost certainly have lost that 2-1. So at last we have a very solid base to build from.
The frustrating thing for me is you see how transformative two top quality signings has been on one part of the side. We should have pushed the boat out for an attacking mid or right winger.

The frustrating thing for me is you see how transformative two top quality signings has been on one part of the side. We should have pushed the boat out for an attacking mid or right winger. Outside of the three minutes that led to the goal they barely got a sniff, even when they were dominating the pattern of play. Yesterday feels like two dropped points now but last season it 100% would have been 3. The pattern of the game was actually extremely similar to our loss there last season (the cup one I think), except this time we were much better equipped to deal with their ascension. Edit: and yeah, clearly frustrating how we didn’t get another couple of signings in. Even just a midfielder that could have given Ole options when Wolves started to dominate the play would have been immensely helpful.

Obviously he’s just a kid but James looks like he’d have much more impact as a sub at present. Stupid booking didn’t help him either from that donut munching fool.

We need players that can cross. The lack of crosses we put into the box is worrying. I'm sure Shaw used to put in a good ball. What happened? Now he just passeds to the nearest man instead of whipping it in. Frustrating. That's probably the last thing we need IMO. We need to learn to break teams down and not just punt it out wide then hope for the best. As mentioned in a previous post, it doesn't help when Lingard is our #10. We need someone like Maddison who can actually play in tight spaces with creativity and vision. that's not the case though. Sterling one of the smallest players in the league scored from a cross at the weekend. look at how many goals Liverpool score from crosses. theres a time and a place for them. wolves sat back loads last night so we couldn't run in behind but we hardly tried to change our plan. one of the successful balls in lingard fucked but we hardly tried anything else. AWB is understandable he isn't an attacking full back but shaw should be supporting and at least trying to whip in balls. its a full backs best weapon. change lingard for Pereira and it would have at least give us something different. we scored from a Pereira cross against Chelsea!

Daniel James in the match against Wolves showed that he is better than Andreas Pereira and should play at the start XI

The commentator made a good point. Nuno didn't mean to put on Traore he was forced to. Wolves were a bit lucky. I think Ole did most things right, Rashford needs to just pick up the ball. Giggs said that if he tried to take the ball from Ruud he'd have been told where to go. Down to Rashford imo and I'm one of his biggest fans.
