Sorry, not following the rationale behind this 'Fuck Romero' fad. Nobody forced the club to give him £ 70,000 a week to be a backup. He didn't strongarm the club into giving him more games than other backups usually get. He has been an entirely dependable, capable, second to De Gea throughout his United career. I don't remember ever seeing stories about him being unsettled or unprofessional in any way. I think most of us, at the times, felt he was a little harshly done by to miss out on finals/semi-finals he helped us get to but, again, I've never seen him sulking. Ole even specifically praised his professionalism after Sevilla. Romero was signed to be first backup goalkeeper to clearly first choice De Gea. He's now clearly second backup to De Gea and Henderson. Plenty of us reckon he could probably be a starter elsewhere. It is a bit shit of the club to now demand a prohibitive fee to let him go get football. Also, is Lee Grant still here??I'm reading on ESPN where murmurings are that members of the squad are not amused with how Romero's been treated. In the same article they mention where Romero was omitted from the club's CL squad, and Lee Grant was included...... ..... that that shit sink in people. I honestly shouldn't be surprised anymore, but this news was beyond disappointing. www.espn.com/soccer/manchester-united/story/4206455/man-united-players-disappointed-by-romero-treatment-sources

Put things in perspective, this is a 3rd choice keeper issue and ESPN is thirsty for clicks on anything negative United.

But frankly, all of the negative shit about the club needs as much clicks as it can get. the place NEEDS to be toxic right now to make the paymasters and the corporate partners back off and in the Glazers & DickEds case, disappear entirely. It, on the face of it, is a 3rd choice keeper issue but it is also just that more evidence of the waywardness of the club. We exist in an age where the powers-that-be can essentially scrub or spin a bad story to their own use. this type of shit has a knock on effect, and I am not against keeping it on the front burner. I really don't care for the bad press about the club, but I'm prepared to promote all of it if it means that the club loses money in the short term to hopefully be rid of the leeches in the shortest possible time. I have no real power except this, hence I do what I can.

Romero has been an honest professional and good servant. The club has treated him like shit.

What is also disappointing is the double standards. We were going around Europe expecting clubs to loan us a right winger on the cheap for the season after we failed to land Sancho. But when Everton are willing to pay us a whopping £2M loan fee and cover Romero's entire wage bill we price the player out of a move and then freeze him out.
Aside from this it doesn't make any commercial sense. We will have to pay his wages for an entire season (over £3M PA!) and his transfer value will plummet after a season of no competitive football.

Funny thing is that even without Romero Everton stand a good chance of finishing above us the way things are going.

That has to be the only explanation !

Simple explanation is they wanted a loan and we wanted to sell. Deal didn’t happen. We have an unhappy bunny earning £100k a week. Not sure how long Sergio has on his contract and if that played a role? Someone else might know this.
I don’t really think he is owed anything by the club to be honest, situation is what it is and for those players supposedly upset I suggest they focus on getting some damn wins and points on the board and keep their emotions under wraps unless they are celebrating winning trophies

Soooo...apparently Boubakary Soumare might be available in January for a 'reasonable' fee...
Pogba replacement?
We could do worse IMHO...
