I've just watched the first goal and the more I watch it the more I think what a massive fucking pussy we have in goal. Why the fuck is he not diving out to collect the ball? I don't give a fuck how good of a shot-stopper he is, he's a fucking liability and miles behind on every other attribute compared to the top-level keepers. Commanding his box has never(or will ever)be his strong point. But out of our 11 starting player problems he's problem number 10 or 11.

Question , what's Ten Hags favourite formation and what formation did he start with yesterday? Am I wrong in thinking that we played more or less the same team from last season and the same 4-2-3-1 formation that has been failing for past 5+ years? Of course he did. He hasn't signed anybody new, what is he going to change or implement? He also went for an utterly cringe false 9 with Bruno I think. Despite being bare thin in midfield can he still not avoid playing Fred and McTominay in the same side?

It’s easy for him to say, being one of the best midfielders ever, but Paul Scholes really simplified the role McTominay and Fred should have in this team.
Get the ball and give it to the better players. Receive the ball on the half-turn, not facing your own goal. Stop trying to run with the ball.
These are the absolute basics aren’t they. It’s stuff that children are taught. So there’s no way ETH can’t see that these two are fucking incapable of it.
Their first goal is a huge example of this, where McTominay is robbed trying to carry the ball forward. Also there was the passage of play Stew mentioned which led to the yellow card where he was completely clueless.
A feature of the sides Paul Scholes played in was constantly giving the ball to the wide players who were usually our most talented. I thought Sancho started brightly yesterday. We should’ve been giving him that ball at every possible opportunity. That’s where the space was. But we didn’t. And we created fuck all and got beat.

With all due respect to Scholes, everything he done looked easy to him but probably isn't. Scholes was a master, who thought his way through games these plodder have no idea what's going on around them, hence they take 4 touches just to find the next pass. Like Xavi said in an interview once, you have to play one and two touch because you don't have time for much else in the modern games

Despite being bare thin in midfield can he still not avoid playing Fred and McTominay in the same side? Let's be honest atm we're not exactly blessed with choices. Donny up to now hasn't exactly shown much to suggest he's much better and if we thrown in youth players, as soon as they underperform they'll get abused aswell. The simple fact is we desperately need midfielders that are good enough and we've wasted over 2 months trying to get ONE in. Now all of a sudden were looking at alternative options that aren't good enough. I'd imagine after yesterday though he'll change something for the Brentford game, he has to. Neves or Tielemans are perfect options yet we haven't pursued either. It's fucking criminal how incompetent the people running this club are.

This is the clip I was talking about. Pause it on 10 seconds. Prepare to weep. Holy shit...it gets worse every time you look... ...weeping.. Exactly. How does a professional footballer end up with a yellow card in this situation? Literally 4 good options ahead of him and none of them really a difficult ball. It beggars belief. And to be honest, the only reason it stands out is because he should have been sent off. I’m sure there were countless others during the 90 minutes.

I’m sure there were countless others during the 90 minutes. That first pass from Fred is a typical example of zero standards, just a lack of concentration and appreciation for his team mates, instead of a nice sharp pass he just strokes the ball behind maguire. Roy Keane used to pull the head off players for that kind of thing. It's a small thing but makes a big difference to the tempo of a game.
