ETH isn’t going anywhere. He needs to wise up but on the hand you would he is being fair and rewarding performances rather than playing the name. Plenty of work to do and a trophy and top 4 has to be the aim for this season. He won’t be going anywhere yet because the club is skint and they can’t afford another payoff is the reality.

Sorry but that is completely far from it. He is going nowhere because it's far too early for him to go anywhere. Let's all remember the state we were in, the man is no miracle worker.

It's ludicrous that his future is even being commented on at this point.

It doesn't take a miracle worker to dump the dross in the reserves and demand signings. Ten Hag replaced 12 players with 6. Are the replacements good? They look like it, but a modern football club isn't supposed to run its entire scouting network based on the bloke they have just appointed as manager. And we still didn't get his top target. The only thing ten Hag could have done to make up for his puppet-esque summer was a storming start when the real stuff started. Instead we have been tonked twice in eight games. We conceded six to our huge local rival FFS. Why aren't there consequences? Are people that Stockholm syndromed to the Glazers that a manager that has achieved nothing for us gets a free pass regardless of the humiliations he presides over? 3rd in the League and winning Cups would be progress. Anything else we should be getting someone else. Ten Hag should be thanking his deities for keeping his job today.

Personally finishing outside the top 4 from what i see this season in terms of other teams is a non starter. A trophy is needed, ideally Europa but i'd take any right now. We just need progress on style of play, showing up for games, controlling games and topping up the trophy cabinet. It would also help if the overpaid Murtough starts lining up sales and a couple of signings for January.

Sack ten Hag and hire who? We all know we’re far behind city and the game arrived at the absolute worst time following a one month break. The only criticism ten Hag should be receiving is his failure to integrate Casemiro into the starting 11. Otherwise his signings this summer have all made a major difference. It’s mad that there’s even a suggestion that he should be sacked.

In an ideal world he starts straight away, it was unfortunate for him that we signed him then McTominay started playing well and had done up until Sunday. Irrespective of whether people rate a player or not if they're playing well then you don't drop them. Unless its for a specific circumstance it would just send the wrong message to the rest of the squad. After Sunday however I do expect we'll see changes, Casemiro being one.

Agree that it is premature to be talking about sacking Ten Hag. However it is valid to think about what the targets should be to measure whether the project is succeeding.
For me Champions League qualification is the absolute bare minimum. Ole, Jose and LVG all achieved it in their first full season and without CL football to offer it will be difficult to sign the players we want.
If he achieves it via Europa League then I'd also want him to get to the final and preferably win one of the domestic cups as evidence that he can succeed domestically.
If he achieves it via a top 4 finish then I'd also want him to get to the semis of the Europa League and at least one of the domestic cups to show potential to win a trophy next season.

Not quite sure what everyone expected tbh.
They are light years ahead of us in every aspect as a club & it showed.

I think Erik has also managed the Ronaldo situation badly. We have struggled for goals this season and Ronaldo guarantees goals. Martial had a good pre-season but he cannot stay fit. Rashford is good on the counter attack but we are supposed to be moving away from Ole ball. Even if you didn't start him in the derby he needed to feature and Erik's excuse was total BS and I am sure at this point Ronaldo is thinking about taking advantage of the World Cup to put himself on the shop window and force a move away in January.

No that’s a chemical castration at minimum and firing squad at max.
