No one is calling for his head. But he’s given himself a serious conundrum in midfield that I’m not sure he can fix given the personnel he has currently. The Mainoo injury was unfortunate but he has to do something or what we’ve seen in both games so far will happen in every game this year. We need Amrabat in at the very least. Looking forward to seeing Mainoo getting game time this season aswell, given the state on that midfield it could be a big season for the lad. If we don't then God help us when we actually come up against a decent side because the first two games should have been comfortable wins. Wasn't convinced by either, our shite made them both look a lot better than they were. If nothing changes then we’ll get a fearful pasting at the Emirates. 4 or 5 nil.

In my opinion getting Onana in was the right move to change how we play and it will pay off providing the rest of the team adapt to him, Mount is not the right signing for us though he`s one of those players that will turn up when the rest of the team are playing well from what I remember him at Chelsea but hides most of the time and we already have plenty of them. Antony for what he cost is a mystery so far just not happening his final ball is poor when trying to create a scoring chance, Pellistri should now be tried on the right from the start.

"Christian Eriksen, last season, came in and had the same. First time in his life he played in a deeper role and that was the ambition from Christian and then also the ambition from Mason. And so he wants to be more multifunctional. That's the way I see football, but as I say, it will not come overnight. There's a process we have to go through, but he’s very game-intelligent. He has the technical abilities, has also good vision on the ball. He knows how to deal with the ball. He has the dynamics, don't forget that. He has the mentality. So, all the ingredients are there to do it."
Here lies the problem. Erik is too arrogant and too Dutch in his thinking. Instead of buying a ready made central midfielder who has excelled in that position he thinks he can turn Mount into a central midfielder even though all his best performances for Chelsea were in attacking central or wide positions. Also the Eriksen analogy is a bad one. Eriksen is a much more intelligent player with the ability to pull the strings from midfield.
It was the same issue with Rashford last season. Erik was convinced he could convert Rashford into a striker and therefore thought he could get away without signing a striker last season and forcing Ronaldo out of the club. But he found out the hard way that Rashford is only good on the left and with Martial unable to stay fit that means the only striker we have is a 20 year old kid with a stress fracture from playing too much football too young.
And then you have this habit of behaving like the manager of a Spice Girls reunion tour. Antony, Onana, Martinez and the Frenkie saga.
Someone really does need to stage an intervention. He's such a good coach it would be a shame for him to fail in the job because he's seemingly incapable of getting his priorities straight when it comes to transfers and too prone to letting his soft spot for former players influence his decisions.

Rashford needs to have a good look at himself. Whilst I appreciate he is best on the left and that is where he should be played, he simply needs to apply himself better wherever he is asked to play. Bigger players than him have been played out of position and one thing they do not lack when asked is full conviction to give their all.
He has played the striker role when he was younger, he knows the basics and should be doing better, I hope part of his frustration is the fact that he knows he should be doing better.

Not to mention that when Erik took over Bruno was one of the best number 10s in the league. Even if he had quiet games he would invariably pop up with assists or goals.
But again Bruno has been forced into a deeper role where he has to do a lot more work and it now has a much greater effect on the team when he has a quiet game or loses his discipline and spends the game moaning or whining.
So it just seems the epitome of Dutch arrogance to take two number 10s and try to convert them both into number 8s just so you can try to play 4-3-3 total Dutch football.
When you are Pep and have unlimited funds at your disposal you can get away with these kind of experiments and look like a genius when they work out but when they don't you can quietly shelve them or buy someone else. But we cannot afford to be doing that.
4-2-3-1 suits us best as a team. Get in someone like Amrabat to play alongside Casemiro. Play Bruno as a number 10. Use Mount out right if Antony cannot kick on. Rashford on the left. Hojlund upfront. And I think we will get by this season.

His attitude has been pathetic in the first two games. Sumed it up when he came off throwing his little tantrum. I get he prefers the left but the lack of effort from him isn't good enough. Hes been in that first team long enough now, he needs to setting a standard not half arsing it. Erik needs to get on top of this before theres no coming back from it. Drop players if need be. Antony has been the same. I'm losing patience with him quickly aswell.

Personally think Pellestri would offer Hojlund more than Antony would in terms of goal supply

Is it still too late to sell Rashford to PSG for silly money?

Is it still too late to sell Rashford to PSG for silly money? Yes That 3 month purple patch last season will keep him here for another 3-5 years. He always has and always will be a good but inconsistent player.

Either Rashford starts on the left or bench him. Find Garnacho is far more effective coming off the bench aswell.

Not sure we should be making reference to “Dutch arrogance” like arrogance is a character trait of the Dutch. You’re chastising him for putting square pegs in round holes but then suggesting Mount plays on the right. I do think he’s wrong on Mount playing deep though. Eriksen is a different player. He has the passing attributes, calm on the ball. Mount doesn’t have these things.
