When is Amad due back? If it’s soon then I can just about cope with a Pellistri loan. If not, it’s a fucking wank decision and if we end up playing Mount on the right I’ll be fuming. As that clearly wasn’t the plan when we signed him. 6 weeks I think. Too long. Pellistri has to stay.

I think Pellistri is good, but I'm not sure he's that good.
He's essentially standing out because he's fairly nippy, takes on his man and gets a good cross in - something our wide players seem totally incapable of doing, hence the stark contrast.
Keen to see him get a start vs Forest, and hope he grabs the opportunity and makes himself undroppable.

That's exactly what they are supposed to do. How will he get better or show how good he is when he can't get 5 starts in a row?

I'm not saying he's a bad player Just haven't seen enough of him, as you say, to make a fair assessment. He racked up 35 appearances on loan at Alaves over two seasons without scoring a goal or registering an assist, but I'll admit I didn't watch a minute of these appearances. Full international, 21 years of age and looks the business, but I'd love to see him get the type of gametime Elanga managed to squeeze out at United. So too with Mainoo. I think Pellistri and Garnacho, in tandem and out wide, could be pretty interesting to see.

He is similar to Garnacho in that he will keep running at you, proper old school wing play. Everytime he has come on as a sub he has shone, maybe the opposition are tired so he looks great but we won't know until the manager does the right thing and gives the guy a chance. He can't be any worst than Antony or Sancho who have been given ample chances to nail that spot down and have disappointed more than they have delighted.

Let's be honest our current options aren't even ripping up weeds let alone trees so I'm all for giving the lad a run at it. These players also need to know that poor performances hold consequences. There's too many that think they can half arse it are guaranteed to start the following game.

There is no point when the manager continues to play favourites.
If Pellistri can get regular football at another Premier League club on loan then that is far better for his development. He only played a handful of games for us last season and was denied a loan move in January.

ETH keeps picking Antony over Pellistri because he wanted him and paid a fortune for him, he’s trying to force Antony into becoming a good player but it’s not happening his final ball is shite time after time.

I have no issue with him keeping faith in certain players. But eventually that faith needs to turn to reality if theyre not performing. 2 games in and he's been awful. Time to change it.
