Rashford needs to have a good look at himself. Whilst I appreciate he is best on the left and that is where he should be played, he simply needs to apply himself better wherever he is asked to play. Bigger players than him have been played out of position and one thing they do not lack when asked is full conviction to give their all. He has played the striker role when he was younger, he knows the basics and should be doing better, I hope part of his frustration is the fact that he knows he should be doing better. His attitude has been pathetic in the first two games. Sumed it up when he came off throwing his little tantrum. I get he prefers the left but the lack of effort from him isn't good enough. Hes been in that first team long enough now, he needs to setting a standard not half arsing it. Erik needs to get on top of this before theres no coming back from it. Drop players if need be. Antony has been the same. I'm losing patience with him quickly aswell. Totally agree, players today are specialists. They are over coached and just can't adapt to play in different positions when asked to do so. You could have played both Rooney or Tevez anywhere in a front 3 and they'd have do a job or much better. Rooney would have played full back if you needed him to. Mentally this lot have the excuses ready to deploy. Rashford has incredible pace and running in behind CBs or across them to get on the end of passes should be within his skillset. Rashford should be playing a similar game to Jaime Vardy in that position. Avoid physical confrontation by running into channels from that position and being a right pain in the whole. He just doesn't work hard enough and can be very passive.

Not to mention that when Erik took over Bruno was one of the best number 10s in the league. Even if he had quiet games he would invariably pop up with assists or goals.
But again Bruno has been forced into a deeper role where he has to do a lot more work and it now has a much greater effect on the team when he has a quiet game or loses his discipline and spends the game moaning or whining. So it just seems the epitome of Dutch arrogance to take two number 10s and try to convert them both into number 8s just so you can try to play 4-3-3 total Dutch football. When you are Pep and have unlimited funds at your disposal you can get away with these kind of experiments and look like a genius when they work out but when they don't you can quietly shelve them or buy someone else. But we cannot afford to be doing that. 4-2-3-1 suits us best as a team. Get in someone like Amrabat to play alongside Casemiro. Play Bruno as a number 10. Use Mount out right if Antony cannot kick on. Rashford on the left. Hojlund upfront. And I think we will get by this season. That's not really true though is it. When EtH took over he'd just come off the back of one of his poorer seasons and then ended up improving upon it last season. As for this 'deeper role where he has to do a lot more work' - Bruno basically has a free role and does whatever the fuck he wants and I think that that's part of why we often have little to no control in the middle. I'm not really sure why Mount's getting so much criticism yet Bruno's getting a free pass either. After his good season and a half of very good statistics after joining, he's been very hit-and-miss since. The sooner EtH starts to consider dropping certain undroppable players (Bruno, Antony, Rashford), the sooner we might start to see other players perform better.

Would not be against a pivot of Casemiro/amrabat and Mejbri/Mainoo/Eriksen Bruno/Mount would just rotate as the no.10's.
It's not perfectly but sadly based on the current financial constraints and player skillsets that likely works best.

Just on Antony, that deal is up there with Maguire in terms of how bad it was. He's fucking useless and has shown no real sign of improvement since joining. He doesn't excel at anything and struggles with the basics yet EtH refuses to drop him. Surely it has to happen sooner or later.

Two overhyped and overpriced wingers that couldn’t beat the ball boy on a run to the corner flag….

If their fees weren’t a factor, there wouldn’t be a debate about who was getting picked.

Pellestri actually looks fast when he comes on. It’s at the point where it’s now crazy to see someone playing on our right side who looks somewhat nippy.

He gets the ball, knocks it past his man and tries to get a cross in and it’s like ‘What is this witchcraft?’

Great. Let’s have LESS competition for our underperforming front players.

When is Amad due back? If it’s soon then I can just about cope with a Pellistri loan. If not, it’s a fucking wank decision and if we end up playing Mount on the right I’ll be fuming. As that clearly wasn’t the plan when we signed him.

Apparently ETH led the payers on a 90 mile jog the day after the match. One mile for every minute of the game where they were fucking useless.
