The blame lies firmly at fergies door, he made 2 subs when 1 was needed, carrick should of come on for rooney who was poor for whatever reason, this would of been man for man in the middle and we wouldnt of lost the game, a draw would of not been a bad result. I cannot believe he could take our best man off in scholes and leave on lesser midfielders, anyway as someone said it can only do good as sometime or another time has to be called on some of these average players and the person who puts so much faith in them, so much for the comment of the younger players maturing. Bad peformance and bad managing not just today but all summer,

why the hell do you pay 18mill for a player and leave him on the bench in one of the seasons most important games, tired my arse fergie, start with him and if he is struggling later on you sub him, again it shows what has been said by the minority on here that the quality in the squad is paper thin

Well it was Fletcher that created the Ronaldo shot and Saha header but and those last minutes i would have prefered Solskjær on the right or possibly switch sides with Ronaldo, O'Shea did a decent job of stopping their play but the way he loses the ball makes what ever else he does completely useless.

I actually think Fletch looked good today....I have been a former critic of the scot. But i have never liked O'Shea and this game merely confirmed my hatred of O'Shea....He played like shite. Now we are back to square one....

I think losing today was made worse because of who we lost to, and credit where it's due, Arsenal did the job. However, this does not mean that we are now screwed and should just sit up and let someone else grab the premiership. We have to get back on the horse, and show character by winning our next match, which is what we didn't do last year.

Miss United Spot on. Got to get it right for the next match and get winning again. We didn't play well today and lost. Hopefully, this will make the players pissed off enough to come back fighting and show that they can battle to win the EPL this year.

Ronaldo had a bad game except for the volley which he should have scored in the first place. They should have taken advantage of Henry being out, he should have been the only one with any chance at scoring but instead Adebayour scores a goal against us after Ronaldo lost the ball in our third. The only good thing to come out of this game is that we finally got a look at Kuszczak who suprised me, in a couple years I think he could be a class keeper.

Like keano said though...whne ronaldo had lost the ball no one took it off of fabregas or made a real attempt to do so! As for people criticising the substitutions...Scholes was looking shattered and starting to commit fouls that showed this...Rooney looked rusty as well as tired...
Carrick didn't start for tactical reasons...O'shea would do a better job of breakin gup the play...you need someone who can tackle against arsenal...this game was made for hargreaves!
I know peopel are entitled to their opinions but we weren't that poor...we weren't at our best but it's certainly nothing to panic about!

I can't remember being as frustrated as I was watching this game since Chelsea put five past us a few seasons back. A very, very strange performance. Not a Manchester United performance. In the second half, we had no heart, no hunger until it was too late. What is wrong with Richardson? According to physioroom.com, he isn't injured. The logical thing today would have been keeping Ronaldo on the right and put Richardson in on the left. Darren Fletcher is a better winger than Richardson? No matter how much I love Fergie, he can't expect us to believe Fletcher is a better winger than Richardson. It's been a bad day at the office. Not just performance of the players, but Fergie too. He's been manager of United for nearly twenty years so I guess he's entitled to an off-day himself. But not against Arsenal. Losing at home to Arsenal is too bloody painful. For the game against Reading, Fergie MUST bring Carrick in for O'Shea and Richardson in for Fletcher. Kuszczak was superb today. Great penalty save. He's a legend. Paul Scholes was man of the match for me. He played brilliant. Shouldn't have been subbed. Oh well, roll on Reading.

You cannot blame Fergie today, he put out a team which was capable of winning the game and only Kusczak, Fletcher and Saha showed up.
Rooney was disappointing and Scholes showed signs of coming alive but never did. We needed someone who would be heard and push the players on but it never came, not at one point did we look like winning the game.
I'm not going to get critical of the boys, not at all because we're still in this title race and there's still a long way to go but today we should have come away with atleast a point.
Kusczak looked great, despite that early mistake giving away the penalty and it gives me confidence that Fergie has finally sorted that goalkeeping department.
It was just one of those days, eh?...
Roll on Reading and Newcastle because the boys will want to prove themselves again and I wouldn't put it past us handing out spankings to those two teams and coming out of them with six points.

I think Fergie is contradicting himself a lot he's say to keep a winning team but the team that was winning had Carrick in the team. Personally I would have started Carrick and if he wanted someone to hold then O'Shea, but ideally Scholes.I would have kept Evra in the team and i think that if Fergie new as he has tht v.d.s had had a stomach strain all week i would have put Kuszczak in net mid-week because there was awkwardness in defence. G.Neville has been looking a bit lathargic in my opinion and as club captian i expected more from him. he was taking the ball from the goal at the back and hoofing it.Kusczak could've done that and he coulda been up ready to get some crosses in . Im not to bothered by the result because it's early and we're not behind Chelsea, so the title isn;t over. I don't think Portsmouth will be a title threat so we're still inline for the championship. It'd have been nice to have been unbeaten until we face Chelsea end of november but now we have to get back to winning ways. Fucking internationals so early for fuck sake

There are plenty of reasons - Arsenal simply needed it mroe than we did, they were more charged up and up for the fight than we were.
Everyone keeps complaining about not playing Carrick and Scholes- hte problem is as everyone knows, Carrick isn't defensive enough in an area where Arsenal are the strongest, especially when, as they did, play with a 5 man midifeld - If it was me, I would have made the same decision, its like last season, when Fergie payed Fortune against Chelsea as opposed to Park, simply because Fortune gave us that little bit of defensive steel.
We really needed Evra to play left wing, and let Silvestre play left back - he does nap, but when his place is in question, he would have been up for the challenge. Rooney has looked off colour for the past two games, his fitness isnt quite there yet, lets face it, he hasnt had many games.
The problem is that should we sign Hargreaves, his pairing with Carrick would not work as Carrick does play deep, it would ahve to be Scholes though thi isn't longterm. The alternative is to play 4-3 3 with Dave Jones forming the left hand of the base (longerm)

Once again I had to endure those obnoxious gooners gloat. Bad day at the office indeed....we looked good for a while then just faded out. I was really hoping we would pull a win at home against ARSEnal and kept our unbeaten record. I didn't think it would be easy, but shame we had to lose...we ended up being the team ARSEnal got their first win of the season...GRRRR. Pricks started singing "We won the league in Old Trafford".... #furious#
