As for the plods! they had a chance to smack a few brits with their battons - and they took the piss - I saw one guy with 'A2' on his back kick one lad and another plod pulled him away. My mate is a plod in the UK and he call his job 'legalised thuggery'

Just seen a few posts saying our performance was not the best. Yes it wasn't but because they beat us last year 1-0 the fans and the players kept this fresh in their minds and made it phsyically challenging more in the second than the first half.
All that mattered last night was getting the right score and we got it. We now have to take that 1-0 lead back home [OT] and get our fans going and really make it just as hostile as it was last night and you will see Lille crumble i guarentee.
UEFA won't throw them out. Not in a million years.Earlier on in the tournament then yes but not at this stage. Simply because it will be hard for Lille to come back from this. No disrespect to Lille but at home in CL we will be too strong for them and have been for other teams, but as they say it's what happens on the night.
Prediction for second leg; 3-0 Rooney;Larsson;Saha

the game was utter shite for 80 mins, except for the crowd trouble which was horrifying how the police treated our fans. the lille team was a disgrace and the coaching staff were aswell, hope they get chucked out of the CL!

this was like the south-east asian football championships in january. thai players actually walked off the pitch and delayed the game for 15 minutes when singapore was awarded a penalty...and then got off with just a warning.
i never thought i would see it again. and here it is in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE...which is about as big a competition as they come. disgraceful by the lille officials AND their fans. i want to whip them so badly at OT its not even funny.
this kind of behaviour has NO PLACE in football. it's the biggest, most watched, most loved game in the WORLD, yet we've got shit like this going on. its unfathomable. i hope UEFA come down hard. a ban for the fans traveling to OT and a touchline ban for the coaching staff.

That game was probably a friendly though [Portugese one] so you need to bare that in mind. Nothing is at stake there.
